An ancient water system in the Andes that delays groundwater from reaching rivers until the dry season by sowing runoff into the ground and filtering it down the hill slopes.

Wanning Liang conducted this research within the Circular Water Stories Lab, a graduation studio of the master track in Landscape Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, under the supervision of Dr. ir. Inge Bobbink. The research on traditional water systems was developed as a knowledge source of the lab’s focus on water-sensitive landscape design. https://circularwaterstories.org
